Well "Pendejo" Really...
Published on March 1, 2004 By Robert Guinness In Current Events
Did anyone else see that Venezuelan President, Hugo Chavez, called Bush an "asshole"? Well, that's what the press is reporting anyways. Actually he called him a "pendejo," which basically means idiot or imbecile (and also can mean coward). ("El muy pendejo se lo creyó." Link)

He also went on to say that "We have enough balls here to defend this land," referring to the recently fleeing Aristide (although some are now saying he was kidnapped and forced to leave).

Chavez is generally characterized as a "padrio" type leader (meaning godfather...You take care of me, I'll take care of you.) I find these comments to be completely in line with his style of leading, and I don't necessarily condone it.

Regardless of what you think of Bush or Chavez though, I think its pretty funny that other presidents are calling ours a "pendejo."

I don't know; Bush has a lot of support among speakers of Mexican and Hispanically-owned businesses.

Yeah- I saw that. What do people think about it? Did the US stronghold Aristide? I guess we'll probably never know.
